CAPS Beat 912

Connect with CAPS Beat 912 to get involved in public safety issues and combating crime in the McKinley Park neighborhood. We meet at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month on line Via Zoom for now due to Covid-19 . Please contact the 9th District Community Policing Office for info on how to join at 312-747-3501 or email jason.sollis@chicagopolice.org

We are actively  looking for beat facilitators to help us organize meetings and attract new community members to get involved in Community Policing..  Glenn and Christine Young were the former beat 912 facilitators who grew the group to be  the largest and most active in the City of Chicago .We would like to work with someone who could help us with staying connected to the community and continue the relationship that makes Mckinley Park such a great place to live.

The Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy (CAPS) is the City of Chicago's community policing program, which includes neighborhood meetings for each police beat. Beat 912 in the Ninth District of the Chicago Police Department covers the bulk of the McKinley Park neighborhood and is the primary area for coverage of our neighborhood's crime.

In addition to attending Beat 912 CAPS meetings, McKinley Park community members can connect with Chicago Police by calling 911 for immediate needs, connecting with the Ninth District headquarters for general public safety issues and sending email to caps.009district@chicagopolice.org.
