Petition Challenges
Candidates for ward elections must very often validate their submitted petitions to be on the ballot, as competitors regularly challenge each other to get petition signatures thrown out. Chicago's Board of Election Commissioners sets the minimum number of petitions required for each ward based on population.
The deadline for candidates to file objections to another's petitions is Monday, December 5, 2022.
